Teneleven moves web hosting to Rackspace

Over the Holidays, Teneleven moved its entire hosting operations to Rackspace.  We had partnered with the same company for close to 10 years, so there was no shortage of house cleaning to be done.

We moved all domain name registration and domain name servers (DNS) to Network Solutions. We moved mail to Google Apps. And countless other services were evaluated, discontinued, consolidated or updated.

But the primary task was website hosting. All sites were moved to Rackspace, either to shared servers, dedicated servers or to the cloud. All code was proofed and updated to run on the latest and greatest server builds. All services we contract for with Rackspace are Managed Services, so all of our operations are covered under their “Fanatical Support”. And while it’s certainly a bold tagline, so far we have not been disappointed.

The only hiccup we experienced in the entire process was some downtime with one of our shared servers that needed some tuning which ended up taking longer than we would have liked. But now our independent global server uptime reports are showing consistent 100% and in our 15+ years of doing this, we have never seen this level of consistency.
